I'm A Bookworm

29 June 2014

God my laptop is painfully slow. But hello people, I was going to post an outfit post today but then I didn't take any pictures but I had already written everything up and now I'm making a new post about books because they are all I can think about at the moment.

But first I need to clean a few things up. Mainly for my sake so I can just write a list of things that I need to sort out, but partly for you if you're wondering where the heck I am going with my blogging.
  • Now that all my end of year exams are over, I will definitely blog more and be more active. I have been so suckish recently and I need to improve and I will since I will have more time
  • I need to sort out my blog right now. I have no idea when it will be fixed but everything is a mess. I need to change my picture and about me to be honest. But I never know what to put in an about me. What about me!? Should I include what my blog is about?? Which leads me to the next thing
  • I want to post a bigger variety of posts but I'm not one to really do lifestyle posts because I'm too embarrassed to just take my camera out with me and at the moment I have a phone with a really bad camera
But enough of that.
I don't know if I ever mentioned it before but I love reading. I read books so quickly and I gladly reread books...sometimes. People always ask me how I can re read books, but to be honest, it just feels like watching a film again! And each time you pick up on new things, or little links which you never realised before, which I love finding. Recently I've become a fan of highlighting quotes too, or my favourite parts of the book. I mainly always read eBooks, because they're cheaper, but for birthdays/Christmas I get some in real life books and it feel so satisfying to have a physical book. I like to buy the classics as in real life books, such as Catcher In The Rye, To Kill A Mockingbird (which I think I might start tomorrow) and the Bronte sisters and just old classics like that, but if I get any opportunity to read a real life book, I take it.

I'm only allowed to get one book a month, since I read them so quickly I cant buy them each time I finish one because money is a thing and my local library has a very bad book collection. I haven't read a book in a while though, because in the summer I literally read none stop, so I'm saving up all my book tokens (not actual book tokens, I'm just saving up money) so I can buy a bunch in summer. Also, I am currently reading a book but it's got a bit boring and I haven't read it in ages, but I'll just soldier through and then start a new one, since I'm almost done with it.

I'm going off track. What a surprise.

Ages ago I made a list of all the books I wanted. I have lost that list but I have created another list of books which I want and thought I'd show you a few of them. I might also start reviewing books, go crazy, since I do read at least one once a month and maybe I could help save you from buying terrible books like I've done in the past or to show you really good books. Also if I really like a book I will definitely share it with you. Whilst writing this post I went off on a massive rant about my experience with recommending books and people not listening to me but then when they became films they all became obsessed, but I think I'll save that story for a future post because I have written loads and I don't want to bore you with it. You will hear the story one day though. Even if you don't want to hear it I will share my pain with you guys.

In Order

The first book I wasn't too bothered about, until I read that it had been banned from many school libraries and even burnt in Kansas City. I then realised that this would have happened a long time ago because the book was published in the early 80's, but I'm interested to know what was so outrageous about it. . It was probably banned just because those places were really homophobic back then, maybe they still are, but I just want to read it so I can know if there actually is anything diabolical in it or if it was just banned because it's based on two girls who fall in love. But this book doesn't bother me so much if I read it or not, I just found it cool that it had been banned and burnt in some places.

Wonder I read about but didn't want to actually read the book, but then my mum started reading it and said that it's really good and interesting. I know it's aimed at a slightly younger audience, but I have read really good reviews so I think I might read it. Because I listen to other peoples opinions and appreciate them, unlike what people done to me when I recommended them books but then they cared when it became a film. So much built up bitterness inside me. I will share the story with you soon. Maybe not soon but it is in my drafts, its not even a big deal, but in my heart and sole it is. I always wonder if you guys pick up on my sarcasm. its so hard to convey sarcasm in a blog post. I could just put a winky face but I'm not about that life.

I've never seen I Am Legend the film, but I know its meant to be amazing. I always like to read the book before I see the film though so I think I might read it. I know that *HERE'S A SPOILER BUT NOT A VERY BIG ONE SO DON'T WORRY YOU PROBABLY KNOW IT HAPPENS ANYWAY* the dog dies which I know I'm going to cry at. I always cry when the dog dies. They're just so innocent and are only there to help. I wanted to read it on holiday, but what if I start to cry. Ill hide the tears behind my sunglasses.

I'll probably get all of these books as eBooks, except The Miseducation Of Cameron Post, I don't know why I want a physical copy of that one, I think it's just because it has a pretty over. And I want I Am Legend as a real life form, because I don't know if its classified as a classic, but in my eyes it is so I want the physical form of it.

I was meant to go on a run this morning but instead I spent the whole time changing this blog post. What a shame, guess that means I should just leave the exercise for another day. Oh no.
I really need to stop putting off being healthy. From today I will be healthy. Not in a way to lose weight though, just so I can feel healthy and clean instead of gross because I have been so unhealthy recently its not even funny. I ate enough chicken nuggets yesterday to turn into a chicken nugget.
Anyway, bye guys! I'm definitely going to post on Wednesday, I have a post waiting in my drafts. Man I love blogging. But thank you for reading and let me know in the comments if you've read any of these books and if I should bother with any of them? I don't want to waste money on a bad book. Goodbye for now my friends.

Cropped Vest

22 June 2014

I have completely messed up my blogging schedule! I mean to post every Sunday an outfit thing and a Wednesday as just a little mid week thing, however I have not been sticking to this recently. I think what I need is to buy a diary and have posts saved in drafts and all that malarkey, because I want to tick to a schedule so I can blog more and then if I have an idea tow rite something I can save it in my drafts, pop it in my diary when to post it then upload it at a later date, but I always forget about my things in the drafts!

However I have been quite busy these past few weeks, but after this week I will be back for good. Also today is another outfit post but I promise you I will have something different uploaded Wednesday and I will stick to a schedule! I'll find a day after school to go buy a diary :)

Okay so today I actually really liked my outfit, I think it looks better without the flannel shirt on top, but I wore it anyway because
1) I was going to be eating therefore Id bloat and used the flannel to hide this fact
2) I didn't actually realise it looked better without the flannel till I got home

I really like this outfit though and will definitely wear it again. The t-shirt is so comfortable and can go with so many things, I think I might buy a few more! I was nervous in it though because I did do a bit of walking then go to my friends house and I was BOILING and I was worried you could see my sweat patches, but I was all good. I think next time if I'm doing anything 'big' or something I wont wear the flannel, but wearing it helps me to dress it down. Also in the pictures I'm not wearing my shoes properly because I couldn't be bothered, but I'm mad because I love these shoes so much but gosh darn blisters! Even though in the pictures you cant see my face (one day I will take the perfect outfit picture) I just done this tiny smokey eye eye shadow thingy which I keep doing recently because I really like it at the moment and a lil flick. I also wore my Kate Moss Rimmel lipstick in shade 101, Ill try and find a picture for y'all. I couldn't find a picture, but it just gave this outfit a burst of colour.
I remember in Easter I found the best summer eye shadow makeup and now I cant remember what I done at all and I'm so mad because it was so pretty and natural and I cant remember it at all now!

Shirt/Flannel: Topshop [old]{similar here} x | x
{I have no idea what these things even are but I love them}
Necklace (circle and triangle one): Urban Outfitters. [probs my fave necklace atm, it makes every plain outfit so complete!]
T-Shirt: H&M
Jeans: Topshop
As I'm lying in bed writing this I can already feel I have two bites and they're so itchy; I hope there's no more. But that's it for today guys, I will come back more regularly soon. :)

Floral Shirt

15 June 2014

I never know what to name outfit posts. Some peoples are so majestic and I'm jut there stating the obvious, that I have been wearing a floral shirt. I just realised I very rarely wear shoes in my outfit posts..sorry. It's because I usually keep my shoes by the front door and never in my room so I quickly slip them on before i go out. Although I do keep all my sandals in my room and since it's getting sunnier and sunnier (hopefully) I will start to wear them more.

Okay guys firstly in the pictures I look really short, but I'm not I'd say I'm of an average height. Secondly I look very tanned and again I am not. I am slightly tanned but not as much as it appears in these pictures. Thirdly I usually crop my face out of these pictures but I wanted you to see my hat and now I realise in the pictures I had pulled the hat down to far.
Now that we've addressed that lets carry on.:')
Hat: I have no idea but I think you can get them from Asos
Shirt: Topshop. (kind of a ling time ago)
Mom Jeans: Top shop (not exact in stock anymore)
Zoom in of the pattern. Ignore that random hair. Also, today I decided to add a few mine random plaits in my hair and I personally think it looks so cute! Might have to do it more often! Although when you take them out they go all zigzazzy. I need to stop talking so much in posts but I just have so much unnecessary stuff to say
I always show you guys my rings but I feel so helpless in case you actually want to buy them because they're always either from Camden or some special ones from my Dad which are all unique. Here the purple one and the one on my other hand is from my Dad. The other one from Camden. Man I love rings, I really want to buy some more. Especially midi rings. I have none but really want some.
Today I went to my Great Uncle's 70th birthday and I had no idea on the dress code, but I don't think anyone else did either. Some people were in jeans and tops some in quite fancy dresses. I decided to wear a shirt (which I really need to sew new buttons on to because I realised today one had fallen off) because shirts can easily be smart and easily be casual. Depends on how you interpret it. Deep.
Then I paired it with my mom jeans because why not, and my new balances which you cant see, but they're just plain black

I've been waiting to wear this shirt for a while since it's so summery and I've never really worn it because I got it for Christmas and decided I would wear it in summer, however know it's summer I rarely do. I will in the summer holidays though, I guess because now it's weekends and I usually do something Saturday and nothing on a Sunday except homework so I really only get one outfit a week because it's either school uniform and whatever is comfortable for Sunday. Although to be fair, all my clothes are comfortable.

I also wore it with this little black hat which is my sisters and when she gets back (she comes home on Wednesday and I haven't seen her in 15 months I'm so excited!!) she'll want it back so I think I'll have to buy my own, but I don't know where to look! And I don't really know what type of hat it is, is it a bowler hat, is it a fedora hat? Who knows!
If you guys know any good places to buy these though, please let me know! I'm in desperate need of my own and feel like they jazz up any outfit!

Zara Wishlist

8 June 2014

Helloo! I think I might start doing a monthly wishlist, but I'm not sure. I just always want so many things.

Also I've been on the Zara website, where I never usually look, but I am loving it! Although I have been waiting to see the tops and stuff and I was about to get really mad that all they seemed to have was dresses and jumpsuits till I realised that's what I clicked on to look at...

|  1  |  2  |  3  |  4  |  looks like I missed out a 5  |  6  |  7 |  8  |

I really need to check out Zara TRF more often, there was loads I liked! Looking through the website again to find the links (I forgot to the first time gosh dang) I found so many more clothes I liked! I definitely need to go shopping. Some of their stuff is quite girly and I'm not a very big girly girl clothes wise, but some of them were just too cute!
I really like 2 and 7, but feel like they would both be quite hard to wear bra wise, since number 2 has little holes in it and 7 has such a low neck. With a bandeau though, I reckon they'd be okay.
Number one I just though was a really cute, girly top and I like the thrills, but I'm not sure what it could be worn with. Most of my trousers are blue or black, and I feel like neither of these colours would go very well, I feel like you would need a white pair. Or a white flowey skirt would be so pretty! I might check and see if they have any other colours which would be easier to pair with my wardrobe.
Although I have quite a few summer shirts, I just thought number 6 was adorable and could be worn with skinnies or high waisted shorts or mom jeans or anything!

For ages I've wanted a pair of ripped jeans, either skinny or baggy. I tried to rip a pair of boyfriend jeans I hardly ever wear to see if ripped jeans would suit me. However when you rip them yourself you don't get the threads going across which I really like and it didn't really go according to plan. Also, the jeans rest on my hips, and I have literally no tops to wear with jeans that rest on my hips, plus they rest really weirdly. They're just a little too big and slip so you can see my underwear which isn't the type of look I'm going for!
However, number 8 are just so nicely ripped and the perfect pair of jeans in my opinion, plus they're high waisted! I think I would prefer a more acid wash pair of ripped jeans, but i really like this pair!

3 is just a cool top that could go with anything in my opinion and 4 is a playsuit. I spent ages of last year and the year before looking for a playsuit and when I finally mentally convinced myself that I don't really need a playsuit. I've found two in one year! I don't know if I would get a second playsuit since I don't wear the this one very often, but who knows! I like the pattern and design on this one and again, perfect for summer!

I really want to get a maxi or midi skirt for summer but only a cheap one because I don't know if I'd wear it much, but I just want a plain one and most of Primarks have patterns! I wish they had a website so i didnt actually have to go out, but it must be done so I can fill my wardrobe with summer clothes. Even though my birthday stash of money is kind of rapidly declining..

Playsuit

2 June 2014

I have been dying to wear this playsuit ever since I got it and today I finally did. I've never really had the right occasion to wear this or didn't think the weather was good enough.
It was my plan to definitely have worn this in the half term and since today was technically my last day of half term (tomorrow [well Sunday] I have a wedding) I had to wear it.

Playsuit: Urban Outfitters (couldn't find exact one)
Jacket: Topshop (old)
Shoes: Office
I was going to wear it with my velvet crop top underneath but thought it was too hot for that. I think that with a cute little black hat, not a beanie but I don't know what they're called, this playsuit would look even more amazing.
It's so comfy and I love the lace trim at the top. I forgot how comfy dresses/playsuits are then today when I was wearing mine and feeling a lil bloated because I had drunk a huuuge drink and you know when you have  loads of liquie and you just have a little liquid baby inside of you for a while...I hope you know...anyway I had that, but I was at no discomfort because this playsuit is so comfortable!

It is pricey, but I know that in summer I will wear it loads, without tights or a top underneath and with a bright lipstick, but also in winter with a long sleeved top and some dark lipstick.
Sorry about the loose pieces of hair!
I just think it's so cute and I like how at the back ( I tried to take a picture but you cant really see) there's a place where you tie a bow so you can make it tighter if you want or just to adjust it to give you more shape since it's a pretty straight down playsuit, I don't know how to explain.

The only problem I have with it is the size. The size I originally got was too baggy, so I swapped it for a smaller size. The smaller size looked and fitted better, but I find it so hard to get my arms in! I think it's shorted than the size above so I have trouble pulling it up and squeezing my arms though. However I feel like this is a small price to pay for such a great playsuit! Oh and of course you also face the hassle of taking off the whole playsuit to go to the toilet, but if you're happy with your outfit, who cares!

I really like this outfit, but I cant wait till summer when I can take off the tights and t-shirt! Also I really like the boots but gosh darnit they give me blisters!
